Dog Trainer Saves Dog with CPR

Dec 06

Canyon Crest K9 Training Center owner, Ron Pace, saves the life of a boxer with CPR during a regular training session. During the session, the dog suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. Ron immediately applied CPR. Within a few minutes, the dog regained consciousness. Once the dog was resuscitated, the owner took him to the vet. It was later found out Sugar has Cardiomyopathy. We believe it's not just a coincidence that this dog's name happened to be SUGAR and his life was saved. Ron Pace has dedicated himself to training diabetic alert dogs to alert their owners to dangerous blood SUGAR levels. If you are touched by this story and want to help save a human life by providing them with a trained diabetic alert dog, you can donate to www.dogsforcures.com a non-profit organization set up to do just that.

Pitbull (Dog Training)

For training your wonderful Dog dogbasics.tweetspecialoffers.com ========================= Thank you FreeFoto.com for the use of your pictures Pitbull "The American Pit Bull Terrier was first recognized by the United Kennel Club (UKC) in the late 19th century. The UKC was the first registry to do so, with UKC founder CZ Bennett assigning UKC registration number 1 to his own APBT, Bennett's Ring in 1898. It should be noted that the American Pit Bull Terrier was also the first breed to be registered by the organization. In recent years, the American Pit Bull Terrier's image has been tarnished by frequent media coverage concerning dog-fighting rings and attacks on humans. Advocates of the breed argue that irresponsible or neglectful owners as well as media sensationalism are largely to blame for this reputation. History ---------- Although the exact history of the breed of dog known as the American Pit Bull Terrier is unknown it is generally agreed that they are descended from bull-and-terrier crosses brought to America from England and Ireland in the 1800s. The Bull and Terrier type dogs were created by crossing the English working Bulldog with English hunting Terriers. The Bulldog that is the ancestor of the APBT was used for many types of work including baiting, fighting, stock work, hunting, and as a farm dog. When bull-baiting was outlawed in England in by the Cruelty to Animals act in 1835 along with dogfighting, illegal dogfighting gained popularity since it is much ...

Injury – Cone Desensitizing “Dog training”

Oct 31

www.pamsdogacademy.com I feel that it is important to be proactive and train your dog to like things that could be needed later on or in an emergency. When a dog is injured, neutered, spayed, has hot spots, or any other condition that the dog should not lick, they will most likely have to wear a cone. The vet will provide you with a plastic cheaper cone, but there are a few other cones on the market. I feel that it is less stress for the dog if they are familiar to the cone. It is also a great idea to go to your vet office and do a few training sessions in the lobby, back in one of the exam rooms, or other areas of the vet office that the dog might have to encounter in his lifetime. When I do a training session at the vet, it is short, the dog gets a TON of treats, and I make it a positive wonderful experience. Practice getting on the scale and anything else you can think of. This will make those times that your dog does need to go to the vet less stressful and will help your dog associate the vet office with some good things. Not all bad things happen at the vet. So, to get your dog used to a cone is very helpful in making sure your dog is not scared or fearful when you do actually have to put the cone on. I wish I had done this when Bandit was a puppy. He broke his leg at 6 months and was so scared of the cone. I did not even think to condition him to a cone when he was that young. It is an easy process and worth it to keep your dogs stress level as low as you can when ...
